2008年，西澳福建同乡会，一个非盈利性的协会由多位来自于福建及祖籍福建的同乡们发起，并于同年的7月19日在西澳大利亚首府珀斯市正式成立。 六年来，同乡会努力发展会务，协助会员融入澳洲主流社会，举办各项文化和慈善活动，促进澳中经济文化的交流，逐渐扩大西澳福建同乡会的社会影响与政治影响，受到了中国国务院侨办以及澳洲相关政府部门的积极肯定。西澳福建同乡会现已成为西澳最具实力和社会影响力的华人社团之一。这一丰硕成果的取得，离不开会员们的团结友爱和理事们的不懈努力，特别是创会理事们在精神、时间和金钱上的无私奉献和鼎力支持。借此机会，我们要对这十六位创会理事致以诚挚的感谢和崇高的敬意。他们是：

Special thanks to the sixteen founding directors from the WA Fujian Association for their support and contribution

On the 19th of July 2008, the Western Australia Fujian Association, a non-profit organization, started by many people from Fujian or natives of Fujian, was formally established in the capital city of Western Australia, Perth. During the last six years, the association has been putting effortinto developing business, assisting members to merge into mainstream Australian society, organizing various cultural and charitable activities, promoting bilateral economic and cultural exchanges between China and Australia, expanding its social and political influences, and has therefore gained positive acceptance from the Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and the relevant government departments of Australia.The Western Australia Fujian Association has become one of the most influential and powerful Chinese communities in Western Australia. The achievement of thesefruitful results cannot be done without the solidarity of the members and the unrelenting efforts of the directors, especially the selfless dedication and support from the founding members in spirit, time and money. To take this opportunity; we would like to express our sincere, genuine thanks and highest respect for the sixteen founding members. They are:
